How to Log Food With The Microphone

Baritastic uses a natural language algorithm that allows you to speak everything on your plate, all at once, and Baritastic recognizes the foods and the quantities and logs them for you in a matter of seconds.

This is the quickest and easiest way to log food in Baritastic.

We recommend not using this for packaged foods. Scanning individual packaged foods will ensure you get the correct product.

How to Log Food On Baritastic

Why should you be tracking your nutrition? Studies show if you track what you eat, you can lose up to twice as much weight and you’ll be able to maintain your weight loss better when compared to people who do not track. So, start tracking.

This video shows a quick overview of how to use the nutrition tracker.

Here are some key tips from the video:

  1. Voice to text is very easy and quick with SmartSearch (the microphone icon).
  2. For packaged foods, scan the barcode.
  3. If there is no barcode or the scanner doesn’t read the barcode, use the Search function to find and log your food.
    1. Change the number of servings to match how much you ate.
  4. If you still can’t find your food or the nutrition info is wrong,  you can create  your own food or use the Quick Add feature if it’s a food that you don’t eat often.

How To Create Recipe

To create a recipe in Baritastic, follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the green plus button from the homescreen to bring up your trackers.
  2. Click on Daily Log. 
  3. Click on Add Food.
  4. Click on Recipes.
  5. Click on Create Recipe.
  6. Add the ingredients for the recipe along with a name.
  7. Ensure you choose how many servings it makes.
  8. When done it will add it to your daily journal.
  9. When you want to add it again, just click on Add Food, Recipes, and choose it from the list or search using the search bar at the top by name.

 

My Reminders Don’t Work

If you aren’t receiving alerts, it’s likely that your notifications on your phone are turned off for the Baritastic app. To fix this:

  1. Go to the Settings section in your phone (not in the Baritastic app).
  2. Look for the Baritastic app (each phone is slightly different on where this is located in the Settings section).
  3. Turn on notifications or allow notifications for Baritastic.
  4. Turn on the sound on your phone if you’d like to recieve an audible alert.

Sharing & Printing Your Food Journal

To share or print your food logs and reports:

  1. Click on the main menu in your app.
  2. Scroll down and click on My Reports.
  3. Choose the report you would like.
  4. Confirm your email address (check this closely).

You’ll receive an email with a link to open up your report. You can save it as a PDF if you want to share or save for later.
